In this way EMS gains complete control of the EFTEC business in Central and Eastern Europe. In the meantime, the corresponding anti-trust authorities have given their unconditional approval to this take-over. The transfer of ownership was carried out yesterday evening.
The EMS business unit EFTEC, worldwide supplier to the automotive industry, develops, produces and markets materials and application technology in the specialised fields of bonding, coating, sealing and damping. With these applications EFTEC holds leading market positions worldwide. With this take-over, EMS intends to further expand this business in the growth markets of Central and Eastern Europe.
The take-over includes the headquarters in Zlin (Czech Republic), four production locations at Hradek (Czech Republic), Nizhniy Novgorod (Russia), Elabuga (Russia) and Budeasa (Romania) as well as sales offices in the Ukraine, Slovakia and Slovenia. In 2012 net sales of CHF 82 million were achieved with a workforce of 211 employees.
