The invitation to the Annual General Meeting of EMS-CHEMIE HOLDING AG in Domat/Ems on August 13, 2011 was followed by shareholders with a record number of 2'140 people.

The accompanying programme this year was devoted to the 75-year company anniversary. As a sign of appreciation of the essential fuel supply provided to the Swiss Army during the second World War, an army music formation, the "Swiss Army Brass Band", made a special appearance at the event. The 34 musicians, conducted by their commander Major Philippe Monnerat and led by bandmaster Lance Corporal Michael Bach, inspired their audience with a first-class performance. Playing the "Christoph-Blocher-March", arranged especially for the occasion by local musician Arno Jehli, they also provided a musical accompaniment to the tribute to Dr Christoph Blocher who was appointed officially "Honorary Patron of EMSCHEMIE" for his great entrepreneurial work.

As is tradition, the Tambourine Society Domat/Ems, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year, lead by Andri Seglias, closed the proceedings.

Following lunch the shareholders were able to visit the Anniversary Exhibition* covering an area of 1'400 m2: 140 photographs, more than 300 historical exhibits and around 600 application examples illustrate the 75 years of company history.

The Annual General Meeting approved all motions submitted by the Board of Directors including payment of an ordinary dividend of CHF 6.50 and an additional anniversary dividend of CHF 6.00, amounting to CHF 12.50 gross per dividend-bearing registered share. Dividend payment will commence on August 19, 2011. Shares will be traded ex-dividend from August 16, 2011.

The present members of the Board of Directors Dr Ulf Berg, Magdalena Martullo, Dr Hansjörg Frei and Dr Werner Prätorius were reappointed for a further term of office of one year, as was KPMG as statutory auditor.

A total of 19'344'917 registered shares were represented at the Annual General Meeting, corresponding to 89.02% of all shares entitled to vote.
