Metal replacement solutions from EMS enable simplified design

Conventional darts consist of four main components: the tip, the barrel (grip section), the shaft (connecting element) and the flight (wing). In the new solution, a single injection-molded part replaces both the previously machined and subsequently painted aluminum shaft and the flexible flight. The entire component is produced in a single shot – with a thin-walled flight section and a robust, permanently load-bearing thread. As a result, machining steps are eliminated, parts can be assembled more quickly, and the process chain is significantly simplified. The design is complemented off by freely selectable, translucent colors with high recognition value.

At the core is Grilamid TR – a transparent polyamide offering high impact strength, chemical resistance, and excellent flexural fatigue resistance. This unique combination makes the dart flights break-resistant and durable. Resistance to UV radiation, cleaning agents, and skin creams protects both appearance and mechanical performance, even under intensive use. Dimensional stability and precise fit are maintained even under changing environmental conditions. This ensures a consistent throwing feel, regardless of fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
