From April 21 to 24, 2026, EMS-GRILTECH will present innovative high-performance and hot-melt adhesive yarns for technical applications at Techtextil in Frankfurt. At the center is an award-winning textile interior solution for the automotive industry, which received the Grand Award at the 2025 SPE Automotive Awards. In Hall 9.0, booth A58, EMS-GRILTECH will demonstrate how freedom of design, functionality, and sustainability can be combined in modern textile solutions.
The focus is on applications in which textile materials take on structural and load-bearing functions, replacing traditional materials. Technical textiles today must be lighter, more sustainable, and offer a greater freedom of design, while at the same time delivering high mechanical performance and enabling efficient processing. Particularly in the automotive and industrial sectors, textile structures are integral components of modern lightweight construction concepts. Materials are required that ensure reliable bonding processes, can be economically integrated into automated manufacturing systems, and are designed with recyclability in mind.
This is where EMS-GRILTECH comes in with its thermoplastic Grilon hot-melt adhesive yarns. They enable precise thermal bonding of textiles, nonwovens, and composite materials, ensuring reproducible results in series production. Defined melting ranges, controlled adhesion, and high process stability form the basis for resource-efficient manufacturing concepts. The yarns, based on polyamide and copolyester (CoPES/PET), are 100% recyclable, Oeko-Tex and ISCC+ certified, and produced in a CO₂-neutral manner in accordance with Scope 1 and 2.
The award-winning application from the Body Interior category includes instrument panels, door trim elements, and armrests. The solution demonstrates the potential of innovative textile technologies in vehicle interiors – both in terms of design and functionality. Textile surfaces open up new tactile and visual experiences and enable integration into modular component concepts.
At the core is an innovative textile construction featuring integrated Grilon hot-melt adhesive yarns. The 2D knitting technology enables virtually unlimited design and customization in terms of colors, surface structures, and patterns. At the same time, material usage and process steps are reduced, resources are used efficiently, and costs are optimized. The weight-optimized component concept improves the overall environmental footprint and supports sustainable vehicle architectures.
The solution was developed in close collaboration with the BMW Group and Strähle + Hess, and with the support of Karl Mayer Stoll. The cooperation across the textile value chain from yarn development and fabric formation to series production highlights the material and process expertise of EMS-GRILTECH.
In addition to hot-melt adhesive yarns, the portfolio includes Griltex hot-melt adhesives, Nexylon high-performance fibers, Nexylene staple fibers, and Grilbond bonding agents. The solutions are used in technical textiles, composites, filtration, apparel, and industrial applications – wherever precise thermal properties, defined adhesion, and reliable processing are required.
Techtextil 2026 provides the ideal platform for professional exchange with developers, designers, and decision-makers from the international textile industry. EMS-GRILTECH will present these solutions from April 21 to 24, 2026 at Techtextil, Hall 9.0, Booth A58.
